M0VSQ/P was be active again in the RSGB SSB Field Day event over the weekend of 1st/2nd September 2012. Last year we entered the open section, though this time around we decided to concentrate on entering the restricted section, sticking to 100W of transmitter power and a single element antenna.
The equipment used was an Elecraft K3, an SGC SG-231 remote tuner and a a 40m long doublet antenna held up using a 15m Racal pump-up mast. The power this year was provided by an array of sealed lead-acid batteries. Much fun was had, one team member wasn’t able to operate much on the Saturday evening.
Operating we had Chloe M0GEJ, Iain M0PCB, Darrell G0HVQ, Ian M0IRD and the unsung hero of the weekend Clive the penguin!
We made 360 QSOs, with 3 duplicates. A total of 109,412 points.
