This year we made a last minute decision to enter the M/2 section as we weren’t able to comply with the required PTT lockouts for M/S, having decided late in the day to run a multiplier radio.
We had a new yagi, in the shape of a Spiderbeam and along with the quarter-wave verticals on 80m and 40m it all worked rather well. On the 2nd radio there was a Butternut HF-9v multi-band vertical.
Highlights were many an dvaried, including working NH7A on 10m well after UK darkness on the 2nd radio. The second radio was well worth having, and has whet the appetite for further M/2 operation, though there are a few things we’d like to do differently next time.
